The bathroom ick
Different brushes, one cup?… 😬
Your toothbrush lives somewhere you’d never put a plate. Sink edge. Next to the toilet. Open cup. Whatever the room’s been doing all day just… sits on it.
You wouldn’t share a toothbrush. So why leave a few of them touching in the same cup like that’s fine?
You rinse. Feel like you’ve done something. Stick it back in the same cup. Job done, apparently.
The flush you pretend is fine
Lid up, lid down, doesn’t really matter. A flush still throws a fine spray into the air. You don’t see it. The brush is still right there. Wet. Open. Waiting.
Then that brush goes in your mouth. Weird to say at lunch. Still true.
Rinsing isn’t a reset
Water shuffles things around. That’s about it. Cup stays open. Room stays humid. Toothpaste crust on the rim. Last flush still in the air. The whole soft mess of a real bathroom.
Not a dental lecture. Just the room and a brush that isn’t “just a brush.”
Same energy in a bag
At home it’s the toilet. In a bag it’s everything else. Perfume mist. Makeup powder. Wet bristles on a zipper. That gym shirt from yesterday sharing a pouch with your head.
Then it goes in your mouth on the trip too. Travel didn’t invent the problem. It just packed it.
What actually helps
Not a prettier open cup. A covered spot. Off the bench. Shut when you’re done. Wall at home or a case that packs.
Close the cover and a UVC cleaning cycle runs inside. Open it and it stops. Light stays in the box. Simple. A bit smug. Fine.
